1. Information We Access

The Difatalk application requires certain access permissions to operate its main features. This information is processed locally on your device:

• Microphone (Audio): We access the microphone for the Speech-to-Text feature. Your audio is converted into text in real time and is not stored or uploaded to our servers.
• Camera (Video): We use the camera to detect sign language (via MediaPipe) and perform Video Calls between devices. The video stream is sent directly to the other device through a Peer-to-Peer connection and is not permanently stored.
• Location & Bluetooth: Required by the Android system for the Nearby Connections feature to discover nearby devices. We do not track your geographic location.
• Storage (Local Storage): We store user preferences such as Display Name and font size locally on your device using SharedPreferences.

2. Data Usage

Data processed by Difatalk is used solely for:

• Facilitating direct text, voice, and sign communication.
• Connecting two devices wirelessly without requiring internet (Offline).
• Enhancing user experience through personalized interface settings.

3. Data Sharing with Third Parties

Difatalk operates independently and does not sell or share your personal data with third parties. However, our application uses third-party services from Google that may collect information according to their own policies:

• Google Play Services: For the Nearby Connections feature.
• Speech Services by Google: For voice-to-text processing.

4. Data Security

Since Difatalk uses a Peer-to-Peer connection (direct between phones), your messages and videos do not pass through intermediary servers. This provides a high level of security because the data remains within the physical range of the two communicating devices.

5. Children’s Privacy

This application is safe for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from minors.

6. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be communicated through app updates or by modifying the date at the top of this page.
